They would like to advance their employability, acquired more knowledge in their chosen field, change careers, or just gain new knowledge. Scores of educational institutions offering online degrees have proliferated the online education field. This option pioneered by the University of Phoenix have gained wide acceptance because it is simple, flexible and affordable. Barriers like distance, careers and family responsibilities that have previously prevented nontraditional students from pursuing their goal have ceased to be a factor in the advent of online degree courses. A lot of students would rather take their studies in their own place, their own pace and their own time, instead of the structured schedule of on-campus universities. Online doctorate degrees are popular to those who already have an established profession and education but still want to advance their know-how and capability. PHD degree programs are also being pursued by people who have established careers but for various reasons desire to go back to school to switch careers.
